A few Words From Someone
Who Knows How You Feel
When I first came to
the Women's Aid I was a bit scared and didn't know what to expect.
It wasn't the fact that
there was quite a few people here at the time, it was also because I
didn't know anyone else in Scotland even though my mum had told me that
I had family in the area, but I had only met them once when I was little
and didn't know them very much.
That was three and a
half months ago now and it has got a lot easier to cope with the people
I left behind and my bedroom and just the little things. Now I know
it can only get better and we will be happier in our new house.
I have started school
now and I have made loads of new friends. I'm not saying you won't miss
your old friends but you can't mope around and be upset forever but
not only for you but also for your mum.
You may think you are
the only person in the world that has ever felt or been through this
and you may think that everyone's having a go at you but they're not
and when new people come to Women's Ais that have been through something
similar to you try to talk to them because it helps and if you don't
feel ready to talk wait until you are, don't ruch. But it helps to talk
and you may help others in your position.
